Mission: Maintenance Duty {Completed by Shinado}

Walking through the harsh town again, you find the said inn where you are supposed to take guard of. The inn seems to be empty outisde, and inside, no one was walking past it. Here you go... now take your post!

Shinado walks a bit more carefree but still on his guard. He walks with a quick stride in his step. He walks inside of the inn, searching for the owner so he can alert him about his arrival.

The inn seems to be a small place, looking musty, and a strange smell of bacon filled the air. It was impossible to discern the owner from the commonfolk. You are left with the following options:

Ask the married old couple where the inn-keeper was.

Ask the tall, chuunin ranked ninja where the inn-keeper was.

Ask the homeless group of orphans where the inn-keeper was.

Ask the mysterios cloaked lady where the inn-keeper was.

Leave the area.

Shinado looks around and feels a bit adventurous. He carefully examines the are before making his choice. He carefully and quietly approaches the cloaked woman. He says "do you know where the inn keeper is?" in a quiet tone.

When you approach the cloaked woman, she reveals a crystal ball that was under her. Maybe she was a fortune teller of some sort; her cloak was purple with yellow linings, and her skin was dark; her physique was respectably strong. Upon hearing your question, she answers;

Hm? That boring old practical man? He seems to have gone...

The woman begins to creepily whirl her hands over the crystal ball. Nothing at all happens...

To the restroom! But you...

The kept whirling her hands around the ball. Once again, nothing at all seemed to happen.

Your cause doesn't seem to be that dark. Well then, would you mind answering me a few... questions?

Ask away~

I'm on a mission, sorry.

Get lost.

Shinado looks at the crystal ball as the woman speaks. He thinks briefly and decides that her questions shouldn't be much longer than a bathroom break. "I have some time, i guess a few questions shouldn't hurt" he relies.

Making a weird kind of moaning sound, the woman resumes whirling her hands over the crystal ball, twirling and chnating something...

What is "power" to you?

Glory.

Peace

Domination.

Love.

Shinado was a bit surprised by her question. he thought to himself for a moment. "Power...... Power is the ability to protect what matters most to you in life" he declared a bit proud. Shinado's mind returned to the thoughts of his family and friends.

The woman once again starts swirling her cloaked arms over the crystal ball. However, this time, you seem to see a pink cloud erupt in one corner of the spherical contraption. Smiling, and taking a deep breath, she said;

What path of vengeance do you seek?

Revenge.

Bloodlust.

Love.

Retribution.

Shinado was shocked by the question. He had always known what he wanted to do, but he didn't know what to call it. Shinado let the words fall out of his mouth "I believe I seek love. I want my friends to be happy." Shinado spoke, forgetting to mention himself at all.

Chuckling, the woman continues to wave her hands over the crystal ball. This time, half of it was full of a pinkish cloud-ish substance, which you could actually see. But before you can stare long enough to get a good look, the woman opens her lips once more.

What law of judgement shall you follow?

Bliss.

Strict.

Freedom.

Slavery.

Shinado had a easier time with this question. He spoke up this time saying "It is not my place to decide another beings fate. Maybe I am a bit of everything except slavery." Shinado knew that it wasn't a direct answer, but he also couldn't decide on 1 full answer either.

Smirking slightly, the woman continues her usual actions of moving her arms over the crystal ball. This time, a different colored colored hue of smoke fills the crystal bal. The whole ball swirls with a pale violet color this time. Opening her lips once more, the woman says;

What path of greatness do you seek?

Tyrant.

Almighty.

Vengeance.

Peace.

Shinado instantly thought of his clan revival plan. He says "Almighty" almost as if he wanted to say more but didn't.

The woman silently hovers her hands over the crystal ball, and the whole ball gets covered with a kind of violet cloud. Not leaving her sights off the crystal ball, she said;

Thank you for spending your valuable time with me... you have shown me a lot. I believe who you are seeking is done with his private business...

Coincidentally, the next moment the door to the bathroom opened, and a stout, bulky man walked out of the room. He was wearing a dirty white shirt, and brown, dirty pants.

Ask the woman why she asked those questions.

Tell the manager that you arrived.

Just leave the inn.

Shinado decided to give the man a few minutes to settle down. He says to the woman "why did you ask me those questions?" curiously. He knew better than to expect a full answer.

Defensively, the woman began sprawling her shawls over the crystal ball, removing it from view once again. Looking up at you again, she softly opens her bloody red lips, and replies;

Just doing what a normal "fortune-teller" would do, my boy... now go to your liege, serve your duty! Tut tut!

While you hear her reply, the inn manager sits on a chair beside a table, randomly chatting with the bulky, scary looking men.

Go to the man and state your purpose.

Start beating the bulky men up.

Continue persistently inquiring the lady.

Shinado figured that the lady would still be here later, so he nods and walks over to the inn keeper. He says in a low dry tone "I'm the temporary security guard."

The inn keeper turns his head to fae you. You see the face of an old, disturbed man, with an unclean, unshaven beard, but a warm, kind face. He had a bottle of wine in his hand, but he doesn't let go of it. Eying you suspiciously, he says;

Aye, well, ye might as well just stand around, 'nd wait fer somethin' to brew up, ey?

Sit down somewhere and wait.

Start walking around to pass time.

Walk out of the inn.

Shinado was pretty sure something would happen pretty soon. He learned at a young age that people who walk around always find something of interest. He replies in a quiet tone "I'll be around" and begins to explore the inn.

Long minutes pass by while you walk around. In the time, you notice that the group of tall looking ninja had, at some point, gone up to the same cloaked woman who had asked you those strange questions. After a moment, they resumed standing around. Soona fterwards, a fat, strong looking man just came out of a door and dragged the three tall chuunin-ranked ninja outside the inn. You see the cloaked woman chuckle silently, as you hear loud, thumping sounds.

After a few hours of your wait, you see many people walk in and out of the inn. No one of particular interest eneters the inn. You realize that this inn was rather popular for it's exquisite servings of beer, and seafood. The shady looking people and ninja alike, all enter, eat, leave. All of them consider you as an average ninja.

After a few more hours, you notice that your assigned time of guarding duty is over. Now what?

Go and claim your reward from the inn-keeper.

Just leave the inn without your reward.

Start mass-murdering everyone.

Shinado had become fed up with all the drinking people. He walks over to the inn keeper and says "my time is up."

The man smiles, and laughe heartily. He pats you roughly on the back, and walks behind his counter.

Fine job, ye done. 'cept nothing was there to be taken care of! Hahaha...

He hands you a small brown pouch, with your promised reward of ryo insdie it.

Mission accomplished. xD Nao wasn't that interesting? o.o

Shinado smiles weakly, takes the pouch and leaves.
